Company History
Phthisis Diagnostics, LLC is a research and development company founded in 2005 and located in the foothills of Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Our 30+ years of molecular biology expertise give us the experience necessary to develop a strong catalog of innovative products.
Clients & Collaborators
Phthisis Diagnostics is currently working with biotechnology companies and clinical diagnostic labs to develop innovative molecular diagnostic tests. We are also working with academic research and environmental testing laboratories to adapt our products for use in these settings. Management Team
Crystal R. Icenhour, Ph.D. – President/Director of Research – Dr. Icenhour has extensive training in pathogen detection and molecular biology. She has performed infectious disease research for more than 10 years. Dr. Icenhour trained at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, and Duke University Medical Center in infectious diseases. Additionally, Dr. Icenhour served as the Chair of the National Postdoctoral Association in 2008, which included managing staff and directors, reviewing and approving financials, fundraising, and serving as the public face of the organization. Dr. Icenhour manages and oversees all daily operations, develops short/long-term strategies, and directs research/development for Phthisis.
Elizabeth P. Pyle, M.B.A. – Interim COO – Ms. Pyle serves as a financial business consultant/advisor. With over 20 years of experience in start-up and growth industries, she provides management and business consulting services across diversified industries as an Interim Executive. Her extensive experience in business development, strategic planning, marketing, operations, and leadership skills have left a lasting impact on the overall enhancement of business performance from start-up to turn-around situations.
